When I was a senior in high school back in 1999, my senior project was me holed up in a room writing the first electronic album of my life under the name .dmops. (dead monkeys on pogo stix). At that point, I was hugely inspired by metal and industrial. I had been a singer for a metal band, but they wanted to sound more like Incubus and I wanted to go more Nine Inch Nails. We split ways, and I decided to try and write my own music.

The sounds that came out of that room were akin to dying cats run through distortion tubes. It was mostly terrible, with a few hints of something that could be good. Over the years, with lots of practice and experimentation, I slowly became better. In 2004, when Slice One and I started writing music together, I was able to learn from his musical training background and hone my skills even more.

This track, "Two", is alternate universe .dmops.. When I was writing it, I tried to take myself back to that vibe I was in before the Sandwich, the difference being that I now have 15 years behind me, plus all of the influence, growth, and knowledge gained through the Sandwich.

"Two" is a reflection of who I am now. The energy and harsh parts are contrasted with the slower grooves and breaks. I wanted to write something with deep bass and a funky groove, throwing in a dash of industrial and ambient to create a track that sums up much of what I've learned, while also revisiting my past.

I hope you enjoy it.
